AUSTIN, Texas, Mar 22, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Silicon
Laboratories Inc. (NASDAQ: SLAB) today announced that it was named a
finalist in TechInsight's EE Times Sixth Annual Creativity in
Electronics (ACE) Awards (www.eetimes-ace.com)
for "Company of the Year." Silicon Labs was selected as a finalist based
on the strength of its financial performance, technology innovation, new
product introductions and community involvement in 2009.
This latest award nomination follows last year's recognition of Silicon
Labs' chief executive officer, Necip Sayiner, as Executive of the Year
in the 2009 ACE Awards. The 2010 ACE "Company of the Year" award
recognizes the company that exhibits the highest degree of
professionalism, staff development and retention, customer focus,
technical excellence and profitable growth - a true leader in the
electronics sector.
"The business challenges caused by the recession underscored the
strength of Silicon Labs' business model, the dedication of our
employees and the discipline of our management team," said Necip
Sayiner, president and CEO of Silicon Labs. "We were one of a handful of
companies that grew in 2009 achieving record revenues, with a record
number of new product introductions and sustained investment in R&D to
position us for continued strength in 2010 and beyond."
The EE Times Annual Creativity in Electronics (ACE) Awards event
celebrates the creators of technology who demonstrate leadership and
innovation in the global industry and shape the world we live in. Awards
will be presented on April 27th during the Embedded Systems Conference
Silicon Valley. Awards are presented in 11 categories and are judged by
the editors and a blue-ribbon panel of industry experts, comprised of
leading voices from academia, industry and Wall Street.
"The 2010 finalists represent the execution of forward-thinking
technologies and creativity that captures the imagination of consumers,
illustrating the influence that electronics and embedded design
professionals have on today's culture," said Junko Yoshida, editor in
chief, EE Times.
